At
Lutterworth URC Reformed Church, which was built in 1777
and is a Grade 11 listed building in a conservation
area, we have been undertaking repairs to the outside of
the building. During the work we heard about HERS -
Heritage and Economic Regeneration Scheme, which has
just been inaugurated. They sent their representative to
look at the work we are doing and have suggested that
the front of our building could be restored to its
former glory. They would like to see the front windows
replaced in the style of the first building, the
construction of a wall with railing mounted on it , the
restoration of the portico and the lamp over it and the
invalid ramp restoring to York Stone.
They have
offered us generous help with this, but the problem the
church is facing is that the total required for this
extra work, in excess of what we are already doing,
leaves us with a shortfall of £5,000.
We have agreed
to go ahead with it, but we would be grateful for any
financial help anyone would like to donate to help us
with this.
Gifts may be
sent to our Treasuere, Mr Cyril Griffiths at Lutterworth
United Reformed Church, George Street, Lutterworth,
